Support for those in need

Family Works provides wrap around social services for those who need it, regardless of culture or religion. We work with children, young people, parents and families throughout the upper South Island in the belief that:

  • children should feel safe, loved and cared for.
  • families can be restored and empowered.
  • communities can be places of compassion and support.
  • New Zealand can become the best place in the world to raise children.

We deliver our own services and programmes as well as delivering them on behalf of government agencies such as the Ministry or Social Development and Ministry of Justice.

Support throughout the upper South Island

Family Works upper South Island provides support from Nelson and Tasman to Ashburton in Mid Canterbury. We are part of a national network, with the autonomy to develop services that best meet the needs of local communities.

We have service centres in Ashburton, Christchurch, Rangiora, Nelson, Greymouth and Blenheim, as well as operating satellite services from schools and community centres throughout the upper South Island.

Family Works is a part of Presbyterian Support, a charitable social services provider that has championed the needs of those most vulnerable in New Zealand for more than 130 years.

Presbyterian Support also has services for older persons and is an advocate for social good and social inclusion.
