The Incredible Years ® programme will help you nurture your child’s social, emotional and academic wellbeing. In a group setting, you’ll learn how to identify and manage potentially problem behaviours more confidently.

Incredible Years® is supported by over 30 years of research and is used worldwide in schools and mental health centres.

Who is it for?

The basic Incredible Years® programme is designed for parents of children aged 3-8 years. We also offer the Incredible Years® Autism programme, you canr ead more about this below.

In the Incredible Years® programme you’ll learn how to:

  • Better understand how your child is developing
  • Build a healthy relationship with your child
  • Encourage positive behaviour
  • Address challenging behaviour

The Incredible Years Autism

The Incredible Years Autism programme (IYA) is a Ministry of Education social wellbeing initiative that focuses on key adults (caregivers and whānau, teachers/kaiako) who support children on the autism spectrum.

The IYA programme was developed by Dr Carolyn Webster-Stratton, an American clinical psychologist and founder of the Incredible Years programmes, which have been in New Zealand since 2010.

 

Who is it for?

The Incredible Yeara Autism programme which is for parents of children with autism aged 2-5 years.

 

How we help

In the Incredible Years Autism programme you’ll learn how to:

  • Better understand how your child is developing
  • Build a healthy relationship with your child
  • Supporting the skills and confidence of the key adults in the lives of children on the autism spectrum
  • Promote children’s emotional regulation, positive social interactions, language development and relationships with others.
